About me
Sonya Swiridjuk, CFRE, got her start in fundraising with her youth bowling league in Winnipeg, convincing her dad to make a “major gift investment” and buy her lot of chocolate after most of it had already been eaten. Today, Sonya’s fundraising activities and writing convince people to invest in causes to create change.
A sought-after direct response specialist and copywriter, Sonya’s experience spans 30+ years of working in and for charities of all sizes. Currently, she is doing a parental leave cover at Women's College Hospital Foundation as Manager, Annual Giving. Sonya was on faculty and a guest lecturer for the Humber College Fundraising Management Program for several years, and has served in a range of senior-level volunteer roles with the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter, AFP Global, The Resource Alliance, and CFRE International. She still can’t resist boxes of chocolate sold for clubs and schools.
