Let me introduce myself to all the new kids in town! My name is Jaya Mootoo! Nice to meet you! "I am a detail-oriented and driven professional consultant and speaker, poised with an entrepreneurial flare for seeing potential, identifying opportunities and reaping results." (Like that? I love identifying gaps in service and finding innovative ways to fill them.
Anti-oppression and Equity are part of my core values, and improving both in the non-profit sector is my priority.
With over 15 years of social service and community development experience, including working with those who experienced Gender-Based Violence and volunteering with police services, I added another
level to my education by completing the Humber Fundraising Management program.
Then, I dove right into my new chosen profession and created a successful, globally recognized fundraiser: "CRAM-A-CRUISER FOOD DRIVE AND FUNDRAISER," now implemented by numerous Police services across Canada and the US, raising millions of dollars and supplies for various organizations.
Recently, I completed the Event Management Diploma program at Humber, majoring in Wine studies.
Yes, Wine studies! I have my WSET–L2 certification…which is wine speak, for I love everything wine!
